Since the Lock down began, Can Youth is providing relief aid in our target areas of Dimapur, Nagaland, the relief aid includes dry rations, toiletries and pictorial awareness on safety measures as per the govt. protocols for the adolescents as well as children along with their parents. Our beneficiaries for the relief aid are for disadvantage families including migrant workers, widows, children and adolescents. The implementation of relief aid has also made us realize the situation faced by women, especially young girls, who are badly in need of sanitary pads and we felt it the most significant and notable circumstances that we forget to emphasize on. Can Youth on its 10th Foundation Day, 22nd August 2020, distributed over 1800 packages of sanitary pads to the adolescent girls of Neisatuo Colony, Darogajan Village, women sanitation workers, Wives & daughters of labours under Dimapur Municipal Council, Women Home Stay Prodigal’s home & Miqlat Ministry Women Shelter Home. Donated by Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin and Suhani Mohan founder of Saral Design, a Mumbai based start-up who provide access to high quality and affordable personal hygiene products. The Pads were distributed on the occasion of foundation day keeping in note about the current pandemic where every individual life has been impacted, this initiative is to support women and young girls to maintain genital hygiene. This is to inform to all the general public, NGOs, Civil societies and Government Departments that Can Youth a Not for Profit Organization in its General body meeting held on 7th January 2020 at its office resolved to hereby change the nomenclature of ‘CAN Youth’ as ‘Can Youth’ as per the power conferred to general body by the constitution of Can Youth. Henceforth, therefore, from the day of publication of this information the nomenclature of ‘CAN Youth’ shall be known, Called and Identified as Can Youth for all intent and purposes.
