The Kiphire Wildlife Division, Department of Forest, Environment & Climate change conducted Capacity Building workshop on Environment, Education and Livelihood in Fakim Village & Thanamir village, Kiphire District on 6th & 7th November 2018 respectively. The capacity building workshop was facilitated by CAN YOUTH and assisted by Rural Community Development Centre Society, Peren.
The workshop was facilitated by Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary, CAN YOUTH and Dikugong Esalung, Founder & Chairman, RCDC Society, Peren.
The capacity building workshop focused on the importance of preservation & conservation of the environment, in creating resourceful students through education and in promoting achievement of sustainable livelihood through the existing and limited natural resources of the village.
The capacity building workshop also highlighted on ownership and responsibility, identifying problems, identifying resources of the villages, creating impact and sustainable livelihood for Self Help Groups (SHGs), solving and decision making, difference between needs & wants, grassroots leadership and importance of education. The capacity building workshop also facilitated on how to work on action plan for overall development of village by the respective Village Councils and other community leaders.
Village Council and leaders from Thruntsuvong, Sangtsong, Vongtsuvong and Khongsa villages also attended the workshop. A total of 75 people at Fakim and 55 people at Thanamir attended the program which included members of village councils of the nearby, women, staff of Kiphire Wildlife Division and members of NGOs.
